I hope those of you in Europe haven’t been suffering too much in the heat. I know we have been looking forward to warmer weather but I think a lot of us didn’t expect it to be this hot! Châtelaine Wednesdays

With everything that goes on in life and all the projects that so many stitchers have, perhaps you don’t stitch on your Châtelaines as much as you would like to. That is how Maggi (@kitschywips) and Amy (@fiberartsamy) were feeling when they got the idea for #châtelainewednesday. In Maggi's words: 

Châtelaines are large, beautiful, complex projects, and while not difficult, they can be intimidating. We started the hashtag because we wanted to include and encourage everyone, from those that have stitched Châtelaines before to those that are brand new to Martina’s amazing creations. 

Everyone is welcome to stitch with us; we'd love to see your wips, finishes, or even pictures of your Chatelaine patterns, kits, and stash! Feel free to join us and use the hashtag: #chatelainewednesday so we can see your pictures.

Changes at Châtelaine

I know that you have seen many changes at Châtelaine over the past year with many more in the works but one rather personal change that some of you may have heard about is that I got married! Jan and I had a wonderful day and I am now Mrs Glaevke! Thanks to all of you who have sent us good wishes! 

Resources on the website

If you haven’t looked at the resources section on the site, then it really is worth a look. In that area, you will find updated and original materials lists, the errata list which we update regularly along with a list of international Châtelaine suppliers. If you want to contact about anything for this area, then email us! 

We will be adding more to the resources section over the coming months so do check back often.

Featured design and stitcher

We are delighted to feature the Fire Lily Mandala stitched by Nicola Claire. Nicola stitched the design on 32ct Bitter Chocolate Belfast linen using the recommended materials. She started stitching it on 27 February 2022 and was a monogamous stitcher during that time, finishing it on 28 May 2022 – her needle must have been smoking!

Sunflower Donations

Remember the April Newsletter? Following on from Margaret’s story, I wanted to show support for Ukraine by donating the net proceeds of all sales of this design (Manuela's Sunflowers) back from February 1st until May 31 to the Red Cross.

For every purchase of the Sunflower Design during the donation period, I added up the net profit and doubled the sum as my share of our campaign. Today I sent the funds to the Red Cross!
