ONL 166 – The Rosarium

Choose the color of your fabric

Please note that this are not genuine fabric colors of any manufactuer. The colors have been hand-chosen by me, as they represent an array of colors which act as a decent, though emphasizing background for my intricate design. I strongly recommend to avoid any bold colored and/or mottled so-called "hand dyed" fabrics. Your months-long work on details and specialitles will be lost in any agitated background.

Not only in former times special gardens were installed for one or more species of plants – but in all times the Rose was searched for, cultivated and loved. A Rosarium was even present in Medieval and Roman times – for the wealthy people, of course. Rare cultivates where shown there in their own beds and admired.

This Mandala now is in the series of “….ariums” following the layout scheme of Pomarium, Herbularius, Tinctorium

It does not only depict 8 gorgeous culture of roses, but as well the basic roses, which are mothers to all modern roses too.

You will stitch beautiful arches covered in twining rosess, rosehips and all things “Rose…” lots of detail will keep you busy, but never bored.

Many beads, crystals and other “sew-ons” will give a special value and bling to this piece. Included is a scripture for the botanical name of each single rose, not visible on black though 🙂
