ONL 160 – The Mushroom & Fern Mandala

Choose the color of your fabric

Please note that this are not genuine fabric colors of any manufactuer. The colors have been hand-chosen by me, as they represent an array of colors which act as a decent, though emphasizing background for my intricate design. I strongly recommend to avoid any bold colored and/or mottled so-called "hand dyed" fabrics. Your months-long work on details and specialitles will be lost in any agitated background.

Deep in the forests, where sun rays reach the ground only every now and then, is the realm of mushrooms and mosses, ferns, and the tiny critters living there.

In this design, you can dive into this world of wonders and stitch some beautiful mushrooms, surrounded by grasses, curling ferns, and mossy patches. Tiny spiders spin their nets, caterpillars crawl over branches and some petite snails make their way over humid grounds.

You will use a lot of differently textured threads, silks, cotton, wool. The Special Stitches will showcase the variegated silks in the best way possible – and beads and crystals are used to add the sparkle of dewdrops here and there!

This piece’s mere stitch count is 351 x 351 stitches.
